The Shelf Life of a Shooter

The linkup enhanced speed.
Enhanced strength.
Enhanced reflexes.

What it didn’t enhance was longevity.

Crew shooters had a shelf life.

If they survived enough raids to grow old, the damage would eventually collect.

Nervous systems burned out.
Muscles deteriorated.
Artificial stimulation became dependency.

The system produced legends.

But it rarely produced survivors.

Atriya understood that.

Which is why he trained harder without the rig than most men did with it.

Most warriors chase power. Atriya chases mastery.

Atriya’s journey through war, hierarchy, and the hidden forces shaping his path begins in the Echo Saga.
