Revolving Doors Were the Worst

A young man in a hoodie stands inside a revolving door, looking apprehensive as he peers out. The background features a fantastical scene with a castle and dragons glowing with light.

Jon quickly learned that some doors were worse than others.

Regular doors only gave him glimpses.

A flash.

A moment.

A fractured image of another reality before everything snapped back to normal.

Revolving doors were different.

They didn’t simply open.

They spun.

And every rotation dragged his mind between worlds.

Normal World.

Dragon World.

Normal World.

Dragon World.

Again.

Again.

Again.

The visions came so quickly they blurred together into violent flashes of impossible landscapes, armored soldiers, glowing runes, and creatures Jon couldn’t process fast enough to understand.

It felt less like seeing another world—

and more like being torn between two realities at once.

People passed through revolving doors every day without thinking about them.

Office buildings.

Hotels.

Shopping centers.

Normal places.

But now every spinning pane of glass felt like a machine built to break his sanity apart one rotation at a time.

And the worst part?

The visions were becoming clearer.

Longer.

Closer.

Dragon World no longer felt distant.

It felt like something trying to push its way through.
