Inconveniently enough, it always happens when I’m in the middle of writing a book, so it goes in my cue of things to write. The current book I’m working on was conceived of ten years ago. It was five books later, that I finally got around to writing it.

  1. I find myself writing and thinking through content after watching The West Wing or Miami Vice, wondering what would happen if . . . Those thoughts, compounded and cobbled together get woven into a more coherent and complex narrative that makes the story stronger. Why those scenes? Why those narrative bits? I don’t know. But it makes for great storytelling!
