On my creative process…

A young man wearing a gray hoodie and a baseball cap, writing in a notebook while standing.

A giant shift in perspective for me was when I realized that creation never stops. The constant reconfiguration of matter and energy will always force a new arrangement of what came before.

I think we have a big say in how we direct this creation. We can even create the illusion of perpetuity, although I’d rather not do that unless it’s personally fulfilling.

Kent Wayne’s ideas about storytelling, power, and human nature appear throughout his fiction.

  1. I like this perspective. It makes me wonder how much of what we call creation is really about learning to see new possibilities in what already exists. Maybe our greatest influence isn’t in controlling what comes next, but in deciding what we do with what’s in front of us. And perhaps knowing nothing stays the same is what makes those choices matter.

  2. We may CREATE the illusion of perpetuity
So the “illusion” isn’t an objective fact about reality
It is a thing ” We Create”
It is an act of ours, something we MAKE
    Not a law of nature
But a whim of a creature

We can build things that SEEM permanent
That SEEMING is something we construct
He’d rather not produce that element
Unless it is personally fulfilling on that

Whether what we create lasts forever is a separate question

    Kingdoms rise , Kingdoms fall
Apps come, and apps fade away
A trend comes, a trend ends it call
A movement comes and fades away

All made of matter [ physical / biological / chemical substance]
And energy [mental energy to create ever standing equations like “1+1 = 2 ]
