Though daily discipline can seem like a stifling prison, it is anything but.  It’s a deliberate check against my inner cravings-forces which would dominate and debase me if I let them.  That’s the worst kind of jail.

If the prison of discipline is one I freely choose, then I can’t help but consider myself unfettered and liberated, though I may be surrounded by its uncompromising starkness.

  1. Very good and I agree about Discipline not being a prison. I see it as a fence keeping all the good stuff in and the bad stuff out. Of course, you always have control over the gate. 🙂
